What is the role of the Department of Telecommunications?

The role of the Department of telecommunications is to ensure smooth day to day administration of telecommunications and other subjects within the Minister's portfolio. These responsibilities include broadcasting, experimental radio services, marine, land, amateur, aircraft, personal radio, receiving systems, coast stations and frequency spectrum management. Support services and advice are also provided to the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Commissioners.
