Does customs duty have to paid on overseas purchased items entering Bermuda, but will not remain in Bermuda?

Arriving visitors must declare the total value of all articles that will remain on the island. As long as the items belong to the visitor and are not intended as a gift for a resident, they will not be charged the 25% duty rate.
